Apparently people of color aren’t welcomed here. My husband & I were looking for a fireplace tv stand. We were greeted by a very friendly lady named April. She told us to look for anyone wearing a red vest with a name tag. We started walking on the right side middle area, no one offered to help. Everyone we asked they said they were busy helping a customer. But there were a couple of “red best/id badge“ just talking to each other. On our way to the other side, a red vest/id badge asked can I help you? I told him after being there 15-20 minutes, he was the first person to offer help. He told us that he was helping another person, but would be glad to answer a question. After asking where to look? He directed us to the other side. He said just look around & ask someone for help. While looking, a red vest/id badge came & asked, can I help you? I explained what we were looking for. He took us to his computer station, looked up the item. Advised it’s only online. Before I could say thank you for your help, he had closed his computer and walked away! No worries, you have lost me as a customer .

Manager Carrie has lost us as any future customers. We’ve always come here because items are available same day and the sales people are friendly to work with. Our home is torn apart with a remodel to move home office. Came here to pick out a filing cabinet and shelf. 6 of the cabinets are not in stock, not coming in until April and May. We ask to speak with manager Carrie to see if there is ANYTHING she could do as we have guests coming and would like to purchase the floor model as well as matching bookshelf. With complete lack of emotion she refused to budge on selling any floor models. One item would be in stock in 3 weeks and she wouldn’t even budge on backfilling the floor model when shipment arrived so we could be taken care of. She tried telling us to look at others that had stock but we came in specifically with an idea of furniture and nothing is stocked. Then icing on the cake. 2 identical bookcases on the floor and we could not purchase the second floor model!!!!, Carrie said 4 other customers who had ordered the same shelf and were ready to wait a month or so for arrival had to be called at home to be offered the floor model first before we could purchase! We are here with cash, ready to buy and Carrie couldn’t even show empathy or any flexibility. After all the trips we’ve come here to furnish different parts of our home, this will be the last time. I’m a previous store manager of a big box warehouse store and know first hand this is not how you speak to, react to, or take care of your customers. Our salesperson kept apologizing as even she could see the negative impact the manager Carries attitude was coming across. Sad when we are remodeling our entire backyard and front den and had planned on continuing to do our business here. That will not be happening. Carries lack of understanding on how to speak to or work with customers along with nothing is readily stocked and months out is just poor management and customer service all around for American Furniture Warehouse. It’s pretty bad taste in my mouth when I’m putting in more effort to buy your furniture then you are trying to sell it.
We ended up settling for a black book shelf that was not what we planned on even getting because stupid me thought a gift card to my spouse would be nice. The shelf was slightly discounted because the glass doors were missing. We just arrived home and cannot get the bookcase into our new office space. This is going to be even more of a mess to try to load up and return tomorrow. If only we had been engaged with by a more professional experienced manager from the get go, willing to work with the customers they have in store. Should not have felt like we had to settle for something we did not want

Always fun going into American Furniture Warehouse - furnishings and in store help were great, only minus was delivery and setup. Salesman DanDan in the store was super great. Got us into the right patio set for us and set up the delivery and set up in no time. Bought it on a Saturday, got it Mon (Jan 27 - could have been next day but we prefer Sundays off). The communication and timing on delivery was good and helpful, unfortunately the delivery and setup guys just dropped it off and left (we paid extra for setup). They didn't even take the plastic off the furniture! I even had to cut zip ties on the fire table to get it going. The good news is we called the store and they were glad to send another team out and set everything up correctly, so overall a positive experience and would be happy to go back.

If you get a good sales person the experience is fast although pick up at the side warehouse can be utter chaos. You can’t beat the pricing. Our fabric headboards and side chairs and a counter height table with chairs and benches plus other items like fireplace electronics console and curio cabinets are all decent quality. Our life may be chaotic but we’ve been able to count on the furniture to mix well with our high end pieces.

I was in store, picked out a tv console, and paid for it and delivery. 7:00pm the night before scheduled delivery day I still hadn’t heard about my window. I called and they said it was now on back order and was two months out. Mind you, in store I was asked if I wanted to take it home that day or get it delivered. So I paid for a piece of furniture and they sold the last one in stock after I left. Now I have to wait a week for a refund because of THIS PLACE.

My boyfriend and I had visited back in November looking for the couch we wanted for our home that wouldn’t be done being built until February. We had the immense please of meeting Hans on their sales floor. He was kind, honest and beyond helpful. He let us know that AFW policy would only hold the couch for a month after purchase so we had to wait to order it. Now the time came and we went back hoping to find Hans and there he was. Months later, he remembered us, remembered the couch we wanted and graciously helped us. If you go there, definitely find Hans, he’ll be the one to get you everything you want and need with the best service!!

I’ve purchased many items here, but the service and quality have significantly declined. It now takes days to address issues, they charge for repairs that shouldn’t be needed, and my furniture arrived damaged and incomplete, forcing me to fix things myself despite picking it up myself. After this experience, I’m done with AFW and will shop elsewhere, as their positive reviews seem questionable compared to the negative feedback on other platforms.

Would do negative stars if they had them. Spent thousands on furniture. Delivery to two different address's. AF screwed the order up. No big deal, tried to call to work it out, all day today from 9am until few mins ago. The prompts go in circles, so called the store, asked for a manager, none available, said call phone bank said I did all day, said keep trying. Tried the sales person they said can’t help only sales. Was forced to call my cc company to reverse charges as no one at AF would assist or answer a phone. Will never step foot in this store again. All nice at POS, then they get your money and treat you like you don’t exist. Heading to Lazyboy, happily pay double and our family will never consider AF for any reason in the future. Complete joke-

I purchased a power zero gravity recliner. Love the chair, however the cup holders in the arm rests are the most poorly designed I’ve ever seen.
They have a fairly wide diameter at the top, which can accommodate almost any size glass, but about 1/2 inch from the bottom there’s a smaller diameter ridge which makes placing a glass of any size other than the top size subject to tipping.
I managed to spill two glasses of wine before I figured out how poorly the holders are designed.
I solved the stupid problem by cutting two coasters to fit the diameter and cover the bottom part of the cup holder.
Ashley Furniture should hire designers who have more than a single digit IQ.

We came into this location a couple times over the last few weeks to buy a couch. Not one single sales representative greeted us or asked if we needed assistance. As a matter of a fact, it took us 30 minutes to hunt one down so we could make our purchase. Finally we caught a sales representative, this individual was very kind and eager to help us purchase something. He took us to the express check out where we dealt with a gentleman who had dark curly hair and a shark necklace. He wasn’t wearing a name tag so I couldn’t get a name. He was very rude, unprofessional and standoffish from the beginning of our interaction. He didn’t want to be helpful at all nor was he interested in assisting with the finance process. That was one thing. After we finished with him they had us go wait in the vehicle to pickup our new couch. Once we got the text we pulled into the corresponding docking bay where we were rudely greeted by the dock workers. He asked if we wanted to have the couch tied down and we said we didn’t have any ties. He then said “that’s your business then” which I find a little disrespectful and frankly unprofessional. Then the gentleman put the couch in the bed of our truck and then said “I’m gonna tie it down” if I had known they would provide straps I would’ve said yes. He should led with that instead of being outright rude. Overall the process was honestly terrible both times we went. The experience of dealing with multiple rude employees was bad enough to make me never want to purchase anything here again. I do not understand why everybody was so rude to us.

I'd like to share my terrible experience with this store. First of all their customer service reps are rude. I spoke with someone named Dianne and she was telling me 'This is how it works and you cannot do anything about it'!! Ridiculous way of talking to customers.
I ordered a dining table set and they sold it to us saying it will arrive within a week and it has been a week and now they are saying it can take up to 2-3 weeks or more depending on when their truck is full. They won't even give me a date. Sold the furniture by lying and now rude customer service, no solution for the customer except waiting! Terrible service and store! They won't even let me talk to the supervisor.
It has been 3 weeks today. No sign of our furniture!

I purchased a bedroom set on 12/14. While the bed and mattress were in stock, the dresser and nightstands were not. I was told they would arrive at the warehouse on 12/28. However, the 28th has passed, and after several phone calls to customer service asking for an ETA, I was repeatedly told to call back. This time, the customer service agent was extremely rude, implying that I don't understand English because I didn't understand the term "backordered." The salesman had assured me that the items would arrive on 12/28, but now, who knows when the remainder of the order will arrive. Terrible customer service. I think this is the correct one- Forester? Brilliant. We had another employee who was friendly but he put my partner on edge, whereas Forester was able to properly engage, discuss, and review our concerns. He also is a bubbly guy, manager material.
EDIT: Our purchase was a bed and mattress, we were very blessed that my partner's work has a Holistic Wellness thing and they paid for half our setup, so we focused on:
1. Comfort
2. Length and Size
3. Storage (we have a tiny apartment, and I NEEEEEEDDDDD my drawers!)
While we were shown and led to a selection, my partner had already researched a lot before arriving and was wanting to look at a specific style bed they didn't have. While I did appreciate the first employee's enthusiasm, he did put my partner on edge because the employee didn't ask what we were looking for and focused on talking primarily to me about buying things that I certainly liked, but the purpose of buying a bed is buying something we both like and it didn't seem like this employee recognized that when ignoring my partner and telling me why I should get a specific bed.
Forester came over a few minutes later when we were both feeling a little overwhelmed- The frame we wanted to look at wasn't on display, so we couldn't see it. But Forester, smart man he was, brought us to the kids section to show us a twin size version, and then from memory he compared the two, describing the frame exactly as it currently sits in our room. He was also very personal, pointing out that he knows he could technically just be one of those sales people who lies and says, "I know this is amazing from personal experience!" despite never actually getting what they're trying to sell. He rather switched gears to describe why he would enjoy the frame, and then showed us the mattress he liked best because I have extreme chronic pain and a bad mattress certainly wouldn't make anything better. And I have never had such a comfy time just laying on a bed, in the store and at home. It's exactly like he said so I know he was being honest and it meant a lot actually.
In summary, bed and mattress? Perfect? It's the first time my partner and I have slept this soundly in at least a year or two! Forester's customer service? Amazing and beyond expectation. Thank you!

I’ve visited numerous American furniture stores in different states. This one is by far the worst. Not only does the store fall short in many aspects, there aren’t a lot of options, and to make matters worse, they don’t pay their employees well. Everyone there seemed disgruntled during my most recent visit. They were very nice to me personally, but you can tell they were all overworked and underpaid.

We bought furniture from this place, twice. The first time was on site and we bought two pieces, we still have them everything was as expected. However the second time we bought something online, and when I opened the box discovered some components were damaged significantly. Working with online customer service on this has already been a stressful hassle to facilitate a refund. They keep trying to send me to other companies to get it worked out rather than just dealing with it directly. So my trust is really low now with this company and I do not recommend them for anything online whatsoever. Do not trust they're printed return policy. Even if I do get this resolved with my money back, returns should be easy and fluid when they deliver damage goods. Nothing less is acceptable, you have better options out there

I spent thousands at this store for my new home, but my experience turned sour due to how they handled a return. I had to return a sofa because it didn’t fit through my front door. I wanted to replace it with a smaller one, so I contacted their customer support to request a waiver of the 15% restocking fee. The representative kept going off the phone every two minutes, claiming to check with someone about the waiver, but ultimately, they refused.
Customer support then redirected me to the salesperson who had been very helpful when I was spending thousands. However, when it came to resolving this issue, he said he couldn’t do anything. It made me realize he was there to make a sale, not to help the customer.
I reluctantly agreed to the refund terms, which included the restocking and delivery fees, and was told the refund would be processed in 3-5 days. When I followed up after five days, I was told the refund hadn’t been processed because they were waiting for me to select another item from their store. This was never communicated to me earlier, and I am still waiting on my refund.
It’s disappointing to feel taken advantage of after spending so much. I certainly won’t be returning to a place that prioritizes policies over fair customer service.

Update: Rick G., an AFW Manager, reached out to me following my review. He investigated the issue on his end and, while he could not replicate the exact problem with fiberglass particles on the furniture, he arranged to have the TV stand picked up as a courtesy and provided a refund.
I feel that AFW did a great job handling the situation and demonstrated excellent customer service. Hopefully, this was just an isolated incident. My recommendation would be to opt for furniture that has been assembled and inspected by AFW prior to delivery, rather than furniture shipped in the manufacturer's box requiring assembly.
Original: I purchased the Graydon 71" TV Stand from AFW, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the product. Upon unboxing, I discovered fiberglass all over the wood pieces. It's surprising that AFW would sell a product containing fiberglass, given the health issues associated with it.
Ultimately, I decided not to assemble the TV stand and disposed of it to avoid the risk of fiberglass spreading in my home or car if I tried to return it. This experience was frustrating and felt like a significant waste of both time and money.

If you are having a mattress and box spring delivered beware. After paying for pick up they wouldn’t pick up because there was a small stain on the mattress. If they had informed us of this when we purchased it we wouldn’t have bought from them because we needed them removed before our Christmas guest arrived. We were stuck needing the new mattress so had to pay our trash hauler $85 dollars to remove it before Christmas. Very disappointed in their customer service

Customer "service" is terrible!
If I order $1300 worth of furniture from you 3-4x a year for the last several years on the website, YOU should be calling ME to schedule a delivery.
They randomly put fine print on the bottom of the emailed receipt asking me to call and schedule delivery. Never noticed it until I was seething mad 3 weeks later and they were happy to point it out.
Who in there right mind hands over that kind of money with the expection that it's on me to call you, be advised that it's a 20 minute wait to speak with you and schedule my delivery?
CUSTOMER SERVICE dictates that I shouldn't have to do that by definition.
This company is really full of themselves.... Time to look elsewhere for the $10,000 a year in purchases my company hands them.

I would like to start this off by saying I like my furniture pieces. But the service
here, is not worth the headache and I will never again buy furniture from here. I bought
A cali king bed w/ frame And a nice dresser. Both times they were scheduled for delivery there was an issue. When my bed was scheduled to be delivered the driver didn't ring the doorbell waited 8min in my driveway then left. Had to Reschedule that delivery. Then my dresser was scheduled to be delivered. I got a text message confirming my address And that they would be five minutes away. Mind you the text message said the right address. Thirty minutes later, they're not here , so I contact customer service Just to be told they tried delivering it to a different address on my account that I didn't authorize. Even though it was still on the truck at 10 o'clock In the morning they said they could not deliver it to me. I also
had to reschedule that delivery for 2 days later. Both times was their mistake and i'm paying the price. Horrible pathetic service don't buy from here 😒

So this is the story I ordered a dresser, California king bed they messed up the delivery on the California king bed twice in a row had to reschedule for a later date because they can’t get their stuff right OK I’m posting my delivery for my dresser today get a text. I’ll be here in five minutes. Nobody shows up. I’m standing outside waiting because I was expecting the same trouble that I had last time in my bed to happen againso I will not be recommending your business to anybody else in the future no family no friends in anytime I get a chance to dog you guys I will.

Their sales person assured my fiancé and I that we would have our furniture delivered between 12-3pm. Then we get a call saying it’ll arrive at 7:45am even tho no one will be there to let them in. If people can’t schedule their deliveries make sure your sales team knows that and doesn’t relay false information to your customers. Then they tried to charge me a cancellation fee and no one ever made us aware. Also note their customer service department is none existent I’ve been on the phone over an hour. They cut you off when you’re trying to explain the problem and come to some sort of compromise and then tell you they know the sales person personally and they wouldnt have done that but they’ll talk with them anyways… which is insanely backhanded to say. ONLY DO PICK UP BECAUSE THEIR DELIVERY PEOPLE ARE ESPECIALLY RUDE!!!

We had an amazing experience at American Furniture Warehouse today, thanks to Susie Taylor! She was incredibly helpful, kind, and made the whole process so easy for us. Susie is the main reason we ended up making our purchase—a sofa and loveseat that we absolutely love. She helped us find exactly what we were looking for, and we were in and out much faster than we expected. We’ll definitely be back for future purchases and will be asking for Susie again. Highly recommend working with her!

Very rude delivery people who refused to drop off my own paid for furniture on my patio at first. Then didn't bring all my items on next delivery along with a very rude attitude!! Extremely disrespectful to my father in law. Very hard to speak to a rep about the issue or to resolver missing items. Sales person doesnt care and they chare a restocking fee if you want to return. If you cannot carry it out I would go anywhere else like living spaces or anywhere else.

Terrible experience.
Customer service cancelled my order!! Then when I found out my furniture was not being delivered I waited to speak to customer service for 20 minutes! Then they hung up on me!!!
Update: Company ended up calling and making things right with correct order. Furniture was delivered today but came in a HUGE box that was disassembled. I was promised the floor model so that there would be no assembly required. Now I’m stuck with a huge box and nobody to put together my items! Also they did not even bring the bed frame! So now I have to spend more money to get someone to assemble everything. Where will my son sleep tonight??? This has been a complete nightmare. I do not recommend.

I’m very disappointed with the customer service and delivery service they offer first they show up for delivery date agreed upon on day of purchase but chose not to ring the doorbell I have Rob on camera pretending to push or ring doorbell then lie say he did but really got on hi phone then got back in his car and within two minutes of leaving tried contacting the driver Would not answer calls or text waited to contact customer service when they opened where no help said would be rescheduled for Wednesday now on top of that they didn’t do there job either there didn’t schedule it and now it is moved to Thursday will not be doing business here anymore after my experience sad to call yourself AMERICAN home furniture can’t even do the simple things says a lot about your business
